Quilters flourish at the center as evidenced by their Fourth of July Quilt Exhibit. These quilters are not your regular "old ladies" quilting group. They are up to date on the latest techniques and are always willing to learn new techniques. One of the best things about the quilters who show up here is their willingness to help each other in figuring out the best way to put a quilt together.
Classes are provided free of charge. Look out for the future dates of these classes that will be posted on our website by the end of summer!
Everyday Quilting Opportunities
If someone would like to come to the center everyday to quilt, quilters can bring their machines, fabrics, rulers, and other tools to the center. We do provide closets to lock your machine up in. If you choose to leave your machine or sewing supplies, the city is not responsible for missing items. There are also some machines that can be checked out to individuals who either do not have a machine or have a machine that is too heavy to bring to the center. This makes it very convenient for quilters because it gives them a place to spread out and quilt.
New quilters are welcome to join us whether you have been quilting for a long time or have always wanted to learn how to quilt.
Each year the quilters make a donation quilt, which is given away at the Fourth of July Celebration. Proceeds from this event go into a special fund to help provide:
