On Monday, August 12, 2019, the Mont Belvieu City Council heard a staff report recommending the property tax rate for fiscal year 2020. In her report, Finance Director Calyn Wesson proposed the property tax rate remain at $0.436659 per $100 valuation; the same rate that has been in effect for several years. City Council also took action by setting the dates, times, and place for the public hearings regarding the proposed tax rate and budget. All public hearings will be held in the Council Chamber at City Hall - 11607 Eagle Dr., 2nd Floor. Dates, times, and agenda are as follows:
- Hearing 1 of 2 on proposed property tax rate: Monday, August 26 at 6:00 p.m.
- Hearing 2 of 2 on proposed property tax rate: Monday, September 9 at 6:00 p.m.
- Hearing 1 of 1 on proposed city budget for FY20: Monday, September 9 at 6:00 p.m.
The Mont Belvieu City Council will vote on accepting the proposed tax rate during their regular meeting on Monday, September 23, at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall.
