As a result of direction from City Council, the city’s Community Development Department unveiled the city’s new interactive CIP (Capital Improvement Projects) Dashboard as a way to improve the City’s communication with our residents about all of the projects that are either planned or currently under construction. Through the dashboard, residents can see how many projects are currently under construction, total cost for those projects, and can see details about individual projects. By clicking on an individual project, residents will see the project’s location on a map, be able to see project details and renderings, track progress of any project by reading bi-monthly updates from the contractors, and see updated photos and videos of the projects progress. Some projects, like the Eagle Dr. at I-10 reconstruction and the extension of Langston Boulevard, even have live cameras to watch the progress or view a time-lapse of the entire project.
"The dashboard is an interesting and interactive way for Mont Belvieu’s residents to better understand what is under construction in the City," said Community Development Director Ricardo Villagrand. "Our hope is this tool will better illustrate the investment the City is making in our future and help answer questions about what and why a project is being done."
