How the Grinch Stole the Parade

Grinch Stole the Parade

After Halloween in Mont Belvieu when the pumpkins are stowed away.
“What is next,” you might ask? “It’s the Christmas Parade!”
All thoughts and plans turn to tinsel and light.
And everyone starts planning for a magical night.

But there was one, called the Grinch, who was rather disgruntled
Who snarled and sneered and finally grumbled,
“I must stop this… I must. I need a gimmick that’s slick!
I need something to scare them; a plan that will stick!”
So that Grinch went to grinching in his best grinchy way.
“Ah ha!” he exclaimed. “I know just what to say!”
“I’m covered in germs! It’s gross! You’ll get sick!”
And all of the people started backing up quick.
Yes, the dream of a parade was oh so desirous.
And that Mr. Grinch stopped it with his newfangled virus.

But, that didn’t stop all the people from smiling.
They all just continued with holiday styling.
The tinsel and bobbles and most of all lights
All went on display for those holiday nights.

The people weren’t scared of that Grinch or his illness
He couldn’t defeat the Christmas tranquilness.
Mont Belvieu would celebrate the great holiday season
With fun and activities all within reason.

For Santa will be busy throughout our fair town
He’ll have treats and waves and smiles all around.
He will visit neighborhoods, schools, businesses and more!
Keep your eyes and ears open for when he’ll be near your door.

We are truly sad that we have had to cancel this year's Christmas on the Hill Parade. But, the size and scope of the event is beyond what we are comfortable with given the continuing concerns of COVID-19; the safety and wellbeing of our community is our number one concern. We have a lot of amazing holiday celebrations planned that are more conducive to a healthy and happy environment. We will be releasing our full schedule of Christmas events soon!
