CITY COUNCIL MISSION

It is the mission of the City Council of the City of Mont Belvieu to serve the citizens with honesty, diligence, courage, and sacrifice. We shall continually recognize that we are vested with a sacred trust of the people and must never compromise our principles or condone any act considered unjust or unfair. We must strive to exercise leadership not only in what we do but in how we do it. Through all our actions we shall continually strive to maintain the highest degree of public confidence and will serve with faithfulness and efficiency. In all respects, we will be unequivocal in observance of the law, and even where the law is permissive we will choose the course of the highest integrity.

city council MEETINGS

The Mont Belvieu City Council meets at 6:00 p.m. on the second and fourth Mondays of each month. City Council meetings are held in the Council Chamber and Municipal Court building in the Mont Belvieu Municipal Complex at 11607 Eagle Dr.

PUBLIC COMMENTS AT CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS

A statement of no more than five minutes (agenda) or five minutes (non-agenda) items may be made on items of general relevance. One deferral will be allowed for anyone wishing to delegate their time to another person up to a maximum of ten minutes on non-agenda items. In no case shall anyone speak for more than ten minutes. 

Please note, Texas state law prohibits the Mayor and members of the City Council from commenting on any statement or engaging in dialogue without an appropriate agenda item being posted in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Law. Comments should be directed to the entire council, not individual members.

If a resident wishing to speak during public comment or a public hearing desires to have a presentation or other digital media available as a part of their comments, those files must be submitted to meetings@montbelvieu.net no later than 12:00 p.m. on the date of the posted meeting. No digital materials will be accepted after this time or in person via USB drive at the time of the meeting.
