VOLUNTEER AT THE SHELTER

Love animals? Enjoy serving your community? Ready to make a huge impact on shelter animals? If you are a Barbers Hill High School student or an adult (18+), our volunteer program is just the one for you! We are looking for individuals who have a passion and love for animals to offer their time at our animal shelter.

Before you can volunteer you must:

  • Be a B.H.H.S. Student or an Adult (18+)
  • Have a completed volunteer application and policy, and submit both forms to mbas@montbelvieu.net
  • Consent to a background check screening
  • Sign up for a volunteer time slot on our Sign Up Genius

If you have any questions, please call us at 281-576-2417 or email us at mbas@montbelvieu.net.

What impact does volunteering have?

Not only are you changing the world for our shelter animals, but you are also improving the overall well-being of our shelter. Whether it be kennel maintenance, clerical work, walking dogs, or grooming cats, every volunteer activity has a tremendous impact on yourself as an individual and the community.

WHAT activities do volunteers participate in?

As a volunteer, you can participate in a wide variety of volunteering assignments. Each volunteer activity requires a different level of training and supervision. All volunteers begin their journey participating in kennel maintenance and work their way to different responsibilities.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Kennel Maintenance
  • Administrative Assistance
  • Off-Site Adoption Events
  • Special Events
  • Vet Transportation
  • Animal Care
  • Dog Walker
  • Promotion Team
