General Information
A Permit is required for the Construction of new solar panel on roof or the side of the home. The requirements adopted by the City can be found in the 2018 International Residential Code, 2018 International Building Code, 2020 NEC- National Electrical Code 2018 International Energy Conservation Code
Submittal Requirements
Please apply at The City’s online system My Government Online
Required Documents
- Construction Plans
- Windstorm Engineered Stamp – for the Wind speed of 140mph for 3 sec gust
Inspection Requirements
An inspection request must be scheduled through My Government Online and performed by the City of Mont Belvieu for each task listed below:
- Electric Meter Release
- The electrical work is complete and compliant with the code(s) listed above.

- then press 5 for a new inspection.
All Inspection requests placed before 8:00 a.m. Monday through Friday will have a same-day inspection.
