Your hometown Mont Belvieu Police Department is constantly growing, training, and developing new areas of expertise to provide the best levels of service and protection to your city. As the city’s traffic volume has increased along with our expanding commercial areas in town and the industrial areas along State Highway 146 and the upcoming Grand Parkway, Mont Belvieu PD saw a need to increase its readiness for major crash investigations. Did you know that your police department has two (2) officers who have earned the title of Certified Crash Reconstructionist? Sergeant Eric Stahl was the first MBPD team member to earn this honor in August of 2018 when MBPD started its first Traffic Enforcement Unit, and then most recently, Officer Curtis Ganey doubled MBPD’s capabilities in this area by completing the certification courses just last week!
There are over 200 hours of technical and specialized training that go into becoming certified as a Crash Reconstructionist. These two officers enable MBPD to fully and completely investigate any major crash, including commercial crashes and any fatalities that occur in our city, ultimately using the lessons learned from these incidents to help develop strategies to improve overall traffic safety for all of us. Great work Sgt. Stahl and Officer Ganey ! Thanks for what you do.
